Remembering Brent Williams


Brent P. Williams

3rd Year Marketing Major in the Pamplin School of Business passed away on November 4, 2017. 

Brent was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Boulder, Colorado when he was 6 months old.  Brent grew up in Boulder and attended Fairview High School.  At Fairview he played Trumpet in the Fairview Marching Band all 4 years of high school.  The Marching Band received one silver and three bronze medals in the state competition during Brent’s tenure.

Brent loved music and history.  He traveled to all 50 states and had an affinity for the Civil War.  His passion was Electronic Digital Music but he also loved 80’s hair bands and his dad’s 70’s British classic rock.  He attended numerous concerts highlighted by the EDC in Las Vegas.

Brent is from a long lineage of Williams beginning in the US at Jamestown, VA in 1694.  Part of that lineage included John Williams, Dean of Virginia Tech and the namesake of Williams Hall.  Brent’s grandfather, Dave Williams was also a VA Tech graduate.

At VA Tech, Brent was a member of Delta Phi Sigma fraternity.  He declared his major in Marketing and had a natural intuition for consumer product placement and brand.  Friends praised Brent for his generosity, honesty and integrity.  He was also known as someone who loved the best things in life and always found the best bargains.

Brent is survived by has parents David Williams and Beth Parish EdD, who reside in Boulder, Colorado.
