I WILL!
Pursuing worthwhile goals plays a vital role in our well-being and performance. It gives us a reason to get up in the morning and gives our lives direction. Each step that brings us closer to a goal will elicit positive emotions and contribute to our life satisfaction. Goal-setting boosts motivation, setting us up for personal, academic, and professional success.
That is why the students of “Personal Well-being and Professional Success” (MKTG 3134) go through a goal-setting exercise. With the help of a stepwise procedure, they get insight into their values, strengths, the things they love, the things they are good at, and their future best selves. Based on that, they formulate three to six worthwhile goals and develop an action plan to achieve those goals. With their I WILL statement, the students express their public commitment to their goals and their promising future.
