What made you sign up for Careers in Marketing? This summer, I realized I only needed 7 more credits to achieve a dual degree instead of just graduating as a double major. I was looking for a 1 credit course to fulfill the requirements for my degree. When searching through my options, I saw Professor Wertalik was teaching a course -- I previously had her for MKTG 3104 and loved her class! It seemed like a perfect opportunity to take a class in something that I not only was interested in, but also directly related to my degree.
What do you love most about this class? The variety of speakers! I always knew marketing degrees had a wide variety of applications, but it's been so interesting hearing about the different routes Hokie grads have taken. I always leave class inspired and excited to research new potential career paths.
What have you learned from Careers in Marketing? I've learned the importance of making connections. All of our speakers have encouraged the class to connect with them on LinkedIn and continue to ask questions.

What do you love most about this class? I loved seeing all the different ways people have used their marketing degree and seeing that some of them moved in and out of different departments. It allowed me to see that you do not have to stay in the same role for your whole career. It also allowed me to envision myself switching between Marketing and BIT. This class is great for all majors, not just Marketing!
