Savannah Meredith ‘21 earned her degree with a major in marketing management  and a minor in theatre performance. Additionally, she completed both concentrations offered in the Virginia Tech Department of Marketing: digital marketing and professional sales . Since then, she has continued her marketing journey and found her path, thanks to her time at Virginia Tech.

Meredith currently works for Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a partner sales manager. After exploring jobs related to marketing in entertainment and theater management, while also keeping a broader scope in mind, she interned with AWS. Following graduation, she accepted the full-time offer.

Upon entering Virginia Tech in 2017, she knew she wanted to pursue marketing, though she was still exploring what that may entail professionally. She also had a passion for acting and was involved in the theater department , curious to discover if there was a career that connected both performing arts and marketing.

During her time at Virginia Tech, Meredith was an active member of PRISM, ultimately reaching the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in 2021. She credits her time as CMO with the account management, leadership, and interpersonal skills she uses on a day-to-day basis in her professional role.

Abby Stewart ‘23  has been working hard with Meredith as they serve in leadership roles on the PRISM Alumni Advisory Council (PRAAC). They are working on expanding PRAAC’s membership to include additional alumni, particularly in the relevant fields of AI, consulting, and entrepreneurship.  Their goal is to showcase opportunities beyond the realm of typical marketing and advertising roles that are attainable for PRISM students. By showcasing the depth of the opportunities available to them, PRAAC encourages these students to find their passion and demonstrates how the world is full of possibilities.

Stewart, along with PRISM advisors, has been working to bring scholarships to the outstanding members of PRISM. Thanks to the generous support of Jim Hatch, chair of the Pamplin Community for Leadership and Engagement, two scholarships are currently available to eligible students, reinforcing PRAAC’s commitment to empowering the next generation of marketing leaders.

Additionally, Stewart and Meredith have been brainstorming ideas to increase in-person engagements at events by inviting as many alumni as possible from the area where an event is located.
