Title: Professor of Practice-Sales at Virginia Tech
Brian K. Collins is a Professor of Practice – Sales at Virginia Tech (VT) where he is the Sales Center Director, the Sales Competition Team Director and the faculty advisor to the PSE sales fraternity. Brian also serves as the faculty chair of the Sales Industry Board at VT.
Before joining VT, Brian spent over 20 years in the financial services industry (primarily in banking, M&A, and sales). Most recently, Brian was SVP with a company focused on teaching sales professionals master negotiation skills and how to sell to executives.
Brian was a mentor for students in the MBA program from 2008 to 2014, and has held the Student Relations Chair and First Vice President positions on the MBA Alumni Board. In 2009 and 2012, he received awards for outstanding service as a mentor for the program.
Brian is also a founding member of the Marketing Advisory Board, and has held various positions including the Funding Chair and Chairman. In addition, from 2014 to 2016, Brian served on the National PSE Board as Educator Vice President
Brian received his B.S. in Finance/Minor in English and MBA in Finance from VT. He received the 2016 Certificate of Teaching Excellence based upon his current work at VT.
Title: Global Sales Effectiveness Team Leader at Gartner
Erica graduated from Virginia Tech in 2005 with a degree in Consumer Studies. She was actively involved with many organizations on campus, including Delta Gamma Sorority, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, and Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and was elected to serve on Virginia Tech’s Homecoming Court in 2004. Erica has been with CEB, now Gartner for over 12 years, holding a wide range of commercial and managerial roles throughout her tenure. Most recently, she leads a global sales effectiveness team called the Deal Hub, which provides the Sales organization with support for all aspects of complex deal negotiation. Erica currently resides in Arlington, Virginia (right outside of Washington DC), and in her spare time she enjoys staying active, traveling, being a foodie and avid football fan.
Title: Senior Vice President of e-commerce and Omni-Channel Business at Ferguson
Chip Devine is the Senior Vice President of e-commerce and Omni-Channel Business. He is responsible for profit and loss for Ferguson’s business-to- consumer businesses as well as leading our efforts on improving our overall Omni-channel experience. Chip joined Ferguson in 1993 as a Trainee in Fort Lauderdale, FL and moved into Outside Sales two years later. In his 23-year career with Ferguson, he has served as Branch Manager, Business Development Manager and General Manager. Chip was named District Manager of Florida in 2007, Vice President of Multi-Channel Business Services in 2011 and promoted to Senior Vice President in April 2016. A native of Orlando, FL, Chip is a 1992 graduate of Virginia Tech. He has completed Executive Development programs at the University of Virginia, IMD in Switzerland and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Title: General Manager at CH Robinson Richmond
Chris graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1994 with a degree in Managerial Economics. He has held a variety of roles with C.H. Robinson over the last 21 years. Currently he holds the position of General Manager of their Richmond, VA Office. When not working, he spends as much time as possible with his two boys, Myles and Owen. He is an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and has a passion for all things outdoors. He lives in Richmond, VA.
Title: Senior Sales Manager at PepsiCo, Foodservice Division
Derek graduated from Virginia Tech and the Pamplin College of Business in 2007 with a degree in Marketing Management. Derek has been with PepsiCo for nearly 12 years, holding a wide range of supervisory and leadership roles throughout his tenure. He recently served as the Unit Manager, covering the state of Vermont, leading the organization through new GMO Labeling and LSS Supply Chain initiatives. Most recently, Derek has moved back to the Virginia Market working as the Sr. Sales Manager of PepsiCo’s Foodservice Division. He recently joined the PUMP program and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 children “Hokies in Training”, traveling, and playing golf.
Title: Vice President of Business Strategy at The Center for Sales Strategy (CSS)
Brad received his MBA from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business in 2000. He is Vice President of Business Strategy at The Center for Sales Strategy (CSS), a leading international consulting firm focused on sales acceleration, sales enablement, and sales talent development. Prior to joining CSS Brad was Vice President of Global Sales at Boats Group, where he led the sales teams of Boats.com serving customers in 106 countries. Previously he was Vice President of Sales at TEGNA Media, the largest independent owner of local television stations in the U.S., and he also served as a general manager of TEGNA Media and Gray Television stations across three Virginia Markets. Brad is a past president of the Virginia Association of Broadcasters, a member of the Foundation Board of Directors of Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk, VA, and coaches Little League Baseball in Virginia Beach, VA where he lives with his wife Chris (also a Hokie) and sons Alex and Brady (VT classes of 2030 and 2032 respectively!).
