Celebrating Student Excellence: 2025 Marketing Senior Awards Recipients
April 4, 2025

The Marketing Department would like to recognize our five marketing students, Julia Lee, Angelina Jannace, Lainie Thompson, Sydney Epps, and Maeleigh Moore, who received awards. Additionally, we want to recognize three students who received awards at the Pamplin college level: Katie Ramboyong (Marketing Major), Alessia Ucci (Finance Major, Marketing Minor), and Tyler Chillot (Double Major in BIT and Marketing).
Some of our Senior Award Recipients shared quotes to encompass their time at Virginia Tech and what the future holds for them!
What has the Marketing Department taught you during your time at Virginia Tech?
“The Marketing Department has taught me so many powerful things, the biggest thing being how to lead in any function, in any industry, anywhere in the world! To be a leader means to act as a guide for others on the road to success, and I’ve learned an endless number of skills from my time in Pamplin that I can’t wait to take with me to my future endeavors.” - Sydney Epps
“The Marketing Department has taught me more things than I can list in a quote, but here are two that have stuck with me; Creativity is powerful, but only transformative when paired with strategy—and marketing is where the two meet; And that leadership means empowering others to shine while staying passionate about your own ideas too, a core value I will continue to strive for in workspaces post-grad.” - Maeleigh Moore
“The marketing department has taught me the power of networking and how valuable relationships are in the professional world. I am also inspired by how dynamic your career can be, having learned from professors with such a wide variety of backgrounds!” - Katie Ramboyong
“The marketing department gave me the chance to learn by doing. From studying abroad to collaborating with peers on real projects, I have learned the importance of questioning, thinking strategically, and adapting to changing trends.” - Alessia Ucci
“The Marketing Department taught me how critical it is to question our decisions and weigh the opinions and beliefs of others. It’s easy to get lost in our priors when faced with a decision, but having a strong, diverse network to refer to brings different experiences and beliefs to the table which will almost always lead to decisions with a greater impact and outcomes.” - Tyler Chillot
What are you looking forward to in the future?
“I’m looking forward to taking everything I’ve learned from Pamplin and applying it to my career at PepsiCo! I’m beyond excited to begin working in the food and beverage industry, and I will always look back on my time as Hokie with a huge smile on my face.” - Sydney Epps
“I am looking forward to taking everything I’ve learned from Pamplin to use my voice to continue shaping the fashion and beauty industries through digital storytelling – inspiring other girls in the digital space to take up space, show up as themselves, and believe in their creativity.” - Maeleigh Moore
“I am really looking forward to looking back on my time at VT and feeling like I made the most of it. I am very grateful for all of the ways I’ve been able to be involved, and I hope that these memories just create a launching point for my future ahead.” - Katie Ramboyong
“I hope to carry everything I have learned into my life and career, continue growing, give back, create something of my own, and inspire the next generation of women to do the same.” - Alessia Ucci
“I’m excited to continue learning through my career and experiences, while looking back positively on my time as a Hokie and the lessons I’ve learned in and out of the classroom.” - Tyler Chillot
