MIMB Scholarship Winners

This year, Pamplin’s own Marketing Industry Mentoring Board decided to create and give out their very first scholarship to marketing students. The Board agreed to award two very involved students $1000. Although, this scholarship was not awarded to just any marketing student at Virginia Tech. There were a number of requirements that were asked by the applicants and our winners just happened to be the perfect candidates. The requirements included:

·     MIMB-sponsored activity

·     Undergraduate marketing research

·     Study abroad sponsored by Pamplin Marketing Department

·     A marketing-related club, employment or extracurricular activity

·     Recipient must have a GPA of at least 3.5 at time of application

After sorting through all of the applications that were received the Board came to the conclusion of their winners, Ashlin Webster and Brianna Ehle! These girls, both being very involved inside of Pamplin and among the Virginia Tech campus went above and beyond the Boards expectations. Ashlin, a senior, is the Co-CEO of The Collegiate Women and Business of Virginia Tech and also a Marketing Department Assistant in the Pamplin College of Business.

She, again and again, goes out of her way to make sure she is always persistent and doing her job to best of her ability. She is a perfectionist and very deserving of the award. When asked about how she felt about winning she answered with, "I am grateful to be involved in a department that has successful alumni all over the country that come together to help make a difference in the lives of current students. College is such a hard time, mentally and financially, but the Marketing Industry Mentoring Board is determined to meet students, recognize their hard work, and mentor them along the way!!". Brianna, a junior, is Executive Director of Talent, Operations, and Culture for PRISM as well as a Pamplin Account Manager. She always takes the lead and never lets a day go by where she isn’t on the move, making a difference for herself and those around her. She is driven and always ready to work. When asked how she felt about winning, her response was, “I was so excited when I received the scholarship from the Marketing Mentoring Board! I look up to all of the Board members and feel that their leadership and active roles in Pamplin really shape our future and knowing that they have shaped my education and experience first-hand at Virginia Tech is so humbling”.

Both of these girls are beyond qualified for this scholarship and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the future!
