Biography

Carolyn Kogan is a seasoned digital marketing strategist with a specialization in social media marketing. She teaches “Social Media and Content Marketing” at the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech, where she provides students with real-world experience to create impactful marketing campaigns. Ms. Kogan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York and a Master of Art from the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague, Czech Republic.

Ms. Kogan has over 20 years of experience within the realm of digital marketing from strategy to design to production. She began her career by collaborating with designers and engineers in the Czech Republic and Germany to plan and produce video assets to grow their online presence. After returning to the United States, she became a digital marketing strategist, focused on empowering small businesses by devising and implementing effective online marketing plans to build and support their brand.

Today, Ms. Kogan teaches at Virginia Tech and advises small businesses on optimizing audience engagement across various social media platforms. Her approach in the classroom blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. She is dedicated to individuals becoming active participants in the shifting landscape of social media marketing and owning their personal brand online.
