Biography

Iqbal Ahmed is the founder-president of Austin Business Consulting. His firm specializes in marketing research, branding issues and Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategies. He has previously served as a Marketing Manager for OSS-Cube Inc., a Houston-based vendor of digital transformation solutions to start-ups. He has also served as a licensed Broker for Fidelity Investments and Wells Fargo, offering financial solutions to their high-net-worth clients. 

Iqbal earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with an Honors Thesis from UT-Arlington and subsequently completed his Master of Science in Microbiology at UT-Tyler, where his thesis was supported by the American Heart Association. He later returned to UT-Arlington to pursue an MBA with a focus on Finance. Building on his academic foundation, Iqbal further advanced his expertise with a MS in Marketing from UT-Dallas, specializing in branding and advertising.

Iqbal’s research interests focus on how consumers interact with AI devices.  Specifically, he is examining how social robots may be used to address the interactional needs of consumers who experience loneliness due to social exclusion or self-imposed selectivity reflecting interactional preferences.
